5 minute Christmas blitz event - 16 Dec 2025
Andrew Smith ran a friendly internal 5 min blitz event. 17 club members joined in the 7-round Swiss tournament. For extra incentive there were prizes to be won. The previous Blitz champion (Edo) was unable to attend so everything was to play for. However, it felt like a tradition to have an Italian winner at this event and as the evening ended we saw Edo's compatriot Raffaele come out on top.
Final results:
First Place: Raffaele (6/7)
Second Place: Tibor (5.5/7)
Third Place: Shared by two of the club's many Andrews (5/7)

5 minute blitz event - 17 Jun 2025
Andrew "The Pawnslayer" organised a friendly internal 5 min blitz event. 17 club members joined in the 7-round Swiss tournament.
There were a few "giant-killing" results early on but as the tournament progressed the over-arching theme was to cheer on whoever was playing against Edo. Despite the hostilities, Edo came away triumphant with an emphatic 7 out of 7. Nick came second with an impressive 5.5. Joint third went to Roger ,David and 2 of the Andrew's.
